Newsletter and GDPR

The system was created to make it easier for you to inform and create additional sales. When it was developed, the technicians thought entirely on the basis of the Data Protection Act and privacy first.

Via our system, you as a customer can feel secure that your personal data is collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

In general, it can be said that if a customer has received your mailings for several years without having unsubscribed, they have given you their consent to continue sending ongoing information and offers. The important thing is that the customer can easily unsubscribe for more mailings, something that the tool has supported since the start.

You therefore do not need to throw away all your address lists, but can continue to send in peace and quiet. What you can do to show your customers that you care about their privacy is to send out an email with information about how you handle their information. An example of what this might look like follows below. Swedish E-letters of course have their own privacy policy which you can find here and you are welcome to borrow text from there to make your own for your website.

Information about what applies to purchased address lists and the Data Protection Act will also be available shortly. This is something that is still allowed to be used, but which we do not recommend, as it can damage your brand and reputation.

Example of GDPR mailings you can make to your customers:

Hi!

We have important information for you.

As a customer, you are important to us at The Company Inc. We want you to be able to feel safe with how we handle your personal information. Due to the new data protection regulation, GDPR, we have therefore updated our contract terms and at the same time clarified our privacy policy.

You do not need to re-approve anything.

We have always taken your privacy very seriously and will continue to protect your personal information. This is so that you will continue to have a good experience with us. This means that they are stored securely and never passed on to third parties. You can also choose to unsubscribe at the bottom of this email if you do not wish to receive more mailings.

The updated terms apply from 25 May 2018. You will find our updated terms and privacy policy on our website.

If you have any questions about GDPR or how we handle your personal information, you are always welcome to contact us at mail@thecompany.com

Greetings The Company Inc
